The school bus
Leaning in the cold at a chilly bus stop for the school bus to get there was always, a thrill when your sleepy and only just emerging from your shell. The bus would steam up the hill doors clanking as the doors opened and the din of sardined grumpy youngsters seeping from indoors.
After forcing your way through the battlefield of hands legs and satchels you found if you were on the ball a space to lean into.
Then came the games of arm punching and ear flicking with the sporadic space for chat before the mass evacuation when we at long last turned up at our final destination and determined whether we moved into the queue or paused till it lessened and made a direct route for the school yard.
