Computing and computers are part of all our lives, when we go to work we use them and at home most people own a computer at home for work or games.
What to look for in your PC
Use the highest Processor, Ram and Hard drive size that you can buy and make sure that the Main board has the potential for improvement (no such thing as a future proof motherboard yet).
A lot of people expect a flat screen monitor with there PC but ensure that you read the fine print (equipment shown not included, being the point in fact). If you require several screens you should look into using KVM switches.
Make sure that when you are buying a colour printer, that you try to get it with separate colour ink cartridges be it Canon, Epson, Hp or Brother.

IT Team
The IT team, greatly ridiculed as anorach wearing, trekkies by the media, but primarily they provide the very backbone of a businesses infrastructure. Whether it be making sure that the data centre management and design criteria of the business is in line with BS7799 and ISO 17799 or requesting that you to turn the PC on and off. The IT department are often the individuals you turn to if something stops working.
They don’t normally deal with the air conditioning installation except of course, it’s the server rooms air conditioning. But if you have a projector or a printer that wont work the IT staff are the individuals to ring.

Computer graphics
If you need your computer to change video, or edit high-res visual applications you will have to to look into the latest graphics card and whether you will need a KVM switch to permit you to have two different applications working at once to make editing simpler.
On the other hand if you are using your computer to record your latest album the range of specialist musiccards that are on the market are huge with Soundblaster cards being the high end mainstream card.
